Not asking enough questions ahead of time. How long do you have to speak? Who is your audience? Why would they be interested in your topic?
Writing your presentation word-for-word and then reading it to the audience. This makes it seem like you don’t know what you’re talking about and it is an extremely boring way to present material.
Reading from slides. People do not like to be read to and they don’t like to be conflicted about whether to look at you or read the slides.
Going overtime. No matter how fascinated you think your audience is, your popularity will plummet for every minute that you hold them captive overtime. You will win far more points if you end a few minutes early.
